The swimming pool at this historic beach club was built in the 1920s, survived the 1938 Hurricane, and has been the focus of family life at the club for generations of members. When it became clear, that after 100 years in service, the pool had long outlived its useful life, it was a jarring change for the members. Working with the members’ committee, we ran a forensic investigation of the existing pool shell, while evaluating the options for potential repair and upgrade. When the members decided that they wanted their old pool, but up-to-date and new. Working with a specialized pool engineer and architect, we developed a new, state-of-the art swimming pool, ran the bid process, and oversaw the construction of the new 5,000 SF pool and 12,000 SF of new pool deck in the middle of the historic wood club buildings.
While everyone else was crying the blues over supply chain woes in 2021-2022, we got it built between September and May, ready for the summer season. And on budget. A complex project pulled off elegantly. And a new pool that will be the focus of family life for generations of members to come.
